    We are currently seeking Disability Support Workers who are passionate, caring, and preferred to have had previous experience/s working with participants living with a variety of physical and mental health disabilities, to provide ongoing support to our clients and have readiness for immediate start.

    On a day to day basis you will:

    • Listen to and create opportunities and activities that meet the interests and goals of our clients.

    • Encourage shared learning experiences, and support skill development at every opportunity through self-directed learning, information and education.

    • Ensure that individual support is provided to a person that accesses Anchored Care services and help them meet their recovery journey goals.

    • Be ‘hands on’ and involved in direct service delivery.

    • Assisting clients with personal care.

    • Providing domestic assistance: cooking, household cleaning, laundry etc

    • Social Support: Grocery shopping, socialising

    • Transport to access community and medical appointments.

    We value lived experience and believe peer support is a powerful part of the mental health recovery journey. Therefore, our Peer Worker roles are for those willing to use their lived experience and personal recovery to mentor people with a lived experience of a mental health issue.

    What we offer:

    • A pathway from casual to permanent employment in as little as six - twelve months for dedicated staff

    • 24/7 rotating roster including weekend, evening and night shifts

    • Attractive hourly rates from $32-$35 an hour + Super + Casual Loading!

    • Reliable, recurring shifts (even for casual staff, once settled in) to increase security and improve continuity of care

    • Client matching services that consider your location, skill set, personality, and availability for long-term positive working relationships

    • Targeted professional development opportunities to empower you to reach your goals.

    • Online training with NGO Training for specific disabilities that issues completed certificates after each course.

    What you can offer:

    • Preferred to hold relevant Certificates in Individual Support or Disability and at least 12-months relevant experience OR 2-years full-time experience working in mental health.

    • Understanding of the challenges faced by people with a lived experience of a mental health issue.

    • A current Australian Driver’s Licence with Reliable Car & Comprehensive Car insurance.

    • NDIS workers check screening Approval which would entail your yellow & blue cards.

    • Willingness to be flexible and understanding of the uniqueness of the industry and its needs

    • Clear spoken & professional communication skills both verbal and written to support your clients

    • Willingness to work from other locations around Brisbane

    COVID-19 considerations:

    All Support workers will comply with current COVID-19 rules and updates. You are required to hold the double dose vaccinations - COVID-19 Certificate in the disability sector as per QLD Health directives.

    More About You

    You are an innovative, strong decision maker, who is accustomed to a fast paced environment. With effective time management and organisation skills, you like to take initiative and ensure tasks are completed with excellence.

    Your experience and qualifications for this role ideally, should include:

    A minimum Bachelor qualification in HR or related Business field

    Minimum 4 years experience in HR

    Knowledge and understanding to interpret SCHADS Awards

    Preferably have knowledge and experience in Allied Health and NDIS

    Current National Police check and drivers licence
