July 2022 NDIS Updates

Below are a few updates from the NDIS. There is also a section at the bottom about COVID 19 and resources in easy-read format.

Short Notice Cancellations UPDATE

(This information has been gathered from the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits 2022-23 Version 1.0 (published 27/06/2022) Page 22 & 23 of 101) You can find the most up-to-date guide on the NDIS website: https://www.ndis.gov.au/providers/pricing-arrangements)

Anchored Care has now updated her Short Notice Cancellation period to 7 days, to align with the recent NDIS recommendations.

Where a Participant will not be available to receive support for a period of time in excess of 7 days (e.g., unsupported holiday, family holiday), Anchored Care requests that a minimum of Fourteen (14) days notification is provided.

Failure to notify Anchored Care of an extended absence may result in Anchored Care making claims for payment of scheduled support to meet industrial relations obligations to its employees.

In accordance with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits release in July 2022, we are able to claim 100% of the agreed fees associated with the supports arranged if a participant has given less than seven (7) days’ notice for a support.

Though this went into effect on the 1st of July 2022, we wanted to share this information with you to ensure that you were aware of the changes.

What has changed?
Any unspent funds in your plan at the end of the financial year – 30 June  –  will be automatically increased to cover the cost of NDIS supports. Any remaining budget you have will be automatically increased to cover these pricing changes.

Increase in Price Limits - What has changed?
The price limits for supports you get from disability support workers are going up by 9% from 1 July 2022. The minimum wage and superannuation amount your disability support workers get will also go up on on 1 July 2022.

The NDIS has increased the limit providers can charge for supports delivered by these workers so they can get the new minimum wage.

The NDIS has also increased prices for core supports to cover things like extra COVID-19 costs and improvements to the way they work to keep participants safe.
How does it affect me?
Your current unspent funds will be automatically increased to cover the new prices.
